The VEVRAA Benchmark for hiring protected veterans, set by the OFCCP for federal government contractors, has dropped for the sixth year in a row. The OFCCP has lowered the benchmark from 5.9% to 5.7% which applies to affirmative action plan years starting on or after March 31, 2020. The benchmark is based on the national percentage of veterans in the civilian labor force which is updated annually by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
