The OFCCP updated the Protected Veterans Hiring Benchmark to 6.7%. This new benchmark is effective starting March 31, 2017. The previous Hiring Benchmark was 6.9%. The Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA) regulations require Federal contractors to invite employees to self-identify their veteran status and to invite applicants to voluntarily self-identify as protected veterans at both the pre-offer and post-offer phases of the application process.
