The EEOC has not yet opened the 2019 EEO-1 Survey.  The EEOC sent an email earlier this month notifying companies that they are in the “process of seeking approval under the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) to collect the EEO-1 survey for 2019, 2020, and 2021.” The EEOC is seeking to collect only Component 1, or demographic data, and discontinue the collection of Component 2, or pay and hours worked data. The EEO-1 report is supposed to be due March 31, 2020, but the deadline will likely be extended to give companies ample time to file since the web portal is not open yet and because of the situation with COVID-19.  If we normally file your company’s EEO-1 report, we will file your company’s EEO-1 as normal once the EEO-1 survey opens.  We will keep all our clients updated on any important developments.

The EEOC recently announced “effective immediately all employees, other than the minimal staffing needed to handle mail, will be encouraged to telework until further notice.”
