After several delays to the collection of both the 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 data due to the pandemic and a new on-line system from the EEOC, the system finally opened April 26, 2021. Data must be submitted for both 2019 and 2020 by July 19, 2021. The batch upload file feature will not be available until May 26, 2021. The EEOC’s press release, which can be found here describes the procedures for submitting the required information. One problem we have encountered is that old Company IDs and Passcodes do not work in the new system, and the EEOC sent new ones in a notification letter via U.S. mail to the headquarters address in mid-April. In our experience, the letters are addressed to the EEO-1 contact person’s name and “HR Director, CEO, or Legal Counsel.” With many people still working from home, this has caused some problems. However, the EEOC Help Desk can provide the information by phone or email once an identity verification process has been conducted. If you have Maly prepare and file your EEO-1s please contact your Consultant to let them know if you have received the letter with the new Company ID and Passcode, or if you need us to get it from the EEOC.
