The EEOC will not be going to the OMB to renew the EEO-1 Component 2, they announced September 11, 2019.  However, as mandated by the courts, all companies with over 100 employees in the U.S., including government contractors, must still complete the Component 2 report with data from 2017 and 2018 by September 30, 2019.  The EEOC has stated that they want to assess the usefulness of the data compared to the burden it puts on businesses before they seek renewal of the form and reporting requirement.  This would be good news going forward, as long as the courts do not step in and require the EEOC to renew and collect data in the future.  The burden of collecting the 2017 and 2018 additional pay and hours worked data is still a reality.  As of September 5th, only a little more than 13% of companies had filed the Component 2 report.  For more information and history of the Component 2 report, please read our related news story at http://malyconsulting.com/2019/06/18/eeo-1-report-pay-data-update-3/.
